SW M-020 Aysgarth Falls in Yorkshire Dales - a railway poster reproduction

One of the attractions in Northern England is the Aysgarth Falls.  The Falls are not particularly high but are pleasant to see as they are surrounded by forest and farmland. The Aysgarth Falls are a triple flight of waterfalls, carved out by the River Ure over a one-mile stretch on its descent to mid-Wensleydale in the Yorkshire Dales of England, near the village of Aysgarth. The Falls are quite spectacular during wet weather, as thousands of gallons of water cascade over the series of broad limestone steps.

This postcard shows a reproduction of a LNER poster.  LNER  (London and North Eastern Railway) was the second largest of the “Big Four” railway companies created by the Railways Act 1921 in Britain. It existed from 1 January 1923 until nationalisation on 1 January 1948.

I like this postcard because it has two elements which are of great interest to me - it shows a stunning waterfall and it is rail-related.  This postcard was sent by Kate Taylor (geordiebaker) Swap-bot (26 March 2014).
