Longs Peak, Rocky Mountain National Park, CO, USA

Rocky Mountain National Park is a national park located in the north-central region of the U.S. state of Colorado. It features majestic mountain views, mountain lakes, a variety of wildlife, varied climates and environments—from wooded forests to mountain tundra—and easy access to back-country trails and campsites. The park is located northwest of Boulder, Colorado.  Rocky Mountain National Park encompasses 265,761 acres (415.25 sq mi; 1,075.50 km2) of land in Colorado's northern Front Range. The park contains 359 miles (578 km) of trails, 150 lakes, and 450 miles (720 km) of streams. The park contains 72 named peaks higher than 12,000 feet (3,700 m). The highest point of the park is Longs Peak, which rises to 14,259 feet (4,346 m) above sea level. Longs Peak is one of the 54 mountains with summits over 14,000 feet in Colorado. Together with the nearby Mount Meeker, the two are sometimes referred to as the Twin Peaks (not to be confused with a nearby lower mountain called Twin Sisters).

Longs Peak has one glacier named Mills Glacier. The glacier is located around 12,800 feet (3,900 m). A permanent snowfield, called The Dove, is located north of Longs Peak.
